It's unlikely to get him suspended but Tom Lynch's striking charge from Saturday's AFL clash against Sydney has got him in hot water with Gold Coast coach Rodney Eade.

The key forward was placed on report late in the Suns' 38-point loss to the Swans at a rain-lashed Metricon Stadium when he punched Swan Jeremy Laidler in the stomach right in front of an umpire.

Eade doesn't believe there was anything in the incident - which will probably result in a fine for Lynch - but says it's not the behaviour the club wants to see from one of it's leaders.

"Laidler stayed on and was okay so I don't think there's anything there," Eade said.

"From our point of view it was totally undisciplined from a leader."

Lynch's frustrations have been threatening to boil over for a while as the injury-hit Suns have reeled from heavy defeat to heavy defeat.

Eade said this concern had been recognised and it was especially disappointing that Lynch lost his cool after being specifically warned about such an explosion of frustration.

"We've spoken to him about that. It's not like we've let it go and hopefully that doesn't happen again," Eade said.

"He's been spoken to, so he knows, and certainly he knew tonight.

"It's not acceptable, especially as a leader.

"With two minutes to go, nothing in the game, you can't get frustrated like that. Just undisciplined."
