Gold Coast midfielder Jaeger O'Meara is on the brink of returning for the Suns, but it's unlikely that it will be this weekend according to coach Rodney Eade.

O'Meara has struggled with a knee injury for the past 18 months and didn't play any football last season as he recovered from a snapped patella tendon.

The 22 year old is hot property heading into the off-season as he remains out of contract and a number of several Victorian clubs are keen to land his signature for the 2017 season.

O'Meara has gone on record saying that he does not want to discuss his contract and wants to work his way to playing some good football.
