Gold Coast Suns midfielder Jaeger O'Meara made his return to football on the weekend when he featured for the Suns reserves side in the NEAFL against Southport.
The former Rising Star winner has missed the better part of two seasons with a knee injury, but still remains one of the biggest names on the market come trade week.
Hawthorn and St Kilda have openly said that they're interested in O'Meara, but now Essendon has joined the race to lure the star midfielder to the club.
O'Meara has a terrific working relationship with former Gold Coast coach and now Essendon assistant coach Guy McKenna, which the Bombers believe could work in their favour.
The 22 year old gathered 15 disposals in his return against the Southport Sharks as he played the first half, however O'Meara was held back for the second half, despite his eagerness to continue playing.
