Superstar Gary Ablett expects to play out the remaining years of his AFL career on the Gold Coast, saying he wants to be there when the Suns finally qualify for the finals.

The two-time Brownlow medallist has been plagued by shoulder injuries in recent years and there have been rumours of a return to Geelong, the club where he and his famous father and namesake remain revered figures.

"There has been a lot of hard work go into the last five or six years (at Gold Coast) and I want to be part of that success," the 32-year-old Ablett told the Nine Network's AFL Footy Show.
